Emilio Petrone

On successful completion of an Economics Degree at the Università degli Studi di Salerno and a Master’s in Business Administration, Emilio Petrone forged a career with leading companies in Retail, Entertainment and Financial Services industries.

After joining Ferrero in 1989, he went on with his career at Sara Lee Corporation and Unilever, where he held increasingly important positions. In 2001, he started off as President and Managing Director of Mattel Italy, Mattel Greece, and Mattel Manufacturing Europe, up to covering the role of Senior Vice President of Mattel Corporation, and Managing Director for SEMEA (Southern Europe, Middle East, and Africa).

In June 2008, Petrone entered in Sisal Group as Chief Executive Officer, leading the company through innovation and diversification, tripling its turnover and drastically improving its profitability. Under his leadership, Sisal Group became one of the leading Italian private companies with about 3,000 employees and a turnover of over 19 billion Euro.

After founding and developing SisalPay, the Group’s payments division, in December 2019, Emilio Petrone led the creation of Mooney, the first Italian Proximity Banking & Payments company, following the agreement between SisalPay and Banca 5 (Intesa Sanpaolo Group). Today, Petrone is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Mooney.

Emilio Petrone is Member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, of Pagani Automobili S.p.A, and of Movidea S.r.l. He is also member of the Aspen Institute and of Ambrosetti – The European House.
